James Gray Garden Buildings Ltd work with leading and award-winning Garden Designers and Architects to provide stunning, contemporary, bespoke Garden Buildings, Workspaces and Annexes. We work collaboratively with our clients to deliver a stunning aesthetic, whilst maintaining practical solutions to unique spaces. Our flexible approach allows us to evolve designs to fit in harmony with the overarching garden design project and brief.

MATTHEW CHILDS DESIGN
Matthew is an award winning British garden designer and a member of The Society of Garden Designers having designed a diverse range of exciting landscapes both in the UK and internationally. His first conceptual show garden at the 2012 RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show called ‘Light at the end of the tunnel’ received an RHS Gold medal and Best Conceptual Garden Award. This was followed by four further Gold medals and ‘Best in Show’ gardens at RHS Hampton and a silver gilt medal at RHS Chelsea. In 2022 The Society of Garden Designers awarded Matthew with the ‘Best Medium Residential Landscape’ and the coveted ‘Judges Award’. Matthew lectures internationally, and also at KLC School of Design where he himself trained. Recently Matthew has judged international garden festivals and is an RHS judge.
The project...
Matthew Childs Design first specified one of James Gray’s garden buildings, 'The Sanctuary' for a client project in which the building was to serve as an outdoor gym space. The simple, contemporary design of the building complimented the vision for the garden perfectly and the ability to make the structure a bespoke size gave us flexibility in making the building fit perfectly into the outdoor space. We used a black charred timber cladding as the finish which allowed the building to blend in with its surroundings making it feel like it had always been there. The client is extremely happy with their new building and all of the bespoke additions James gray were able to provide including air conditioning, data, and lighting. They have said it has made a huge difference to work/life balance at home.
